PGA Tour - RBC Heritage
History told us that not since Tiger Woods in 2006 has a player won a major championship and then won on TOUR the next week. It had been 39 years since anyone won the Masters and the RBC Heritage back-to-back (Bernhard Langer, 1985).
Scheffler did it anyway, and no other outcome seemed plausible after two holes of the final round. Generational superstars make the remarkable look routine, like it was always destined to happen, but make no mistake, that’s not normal, no matter how Scheffler made it appear.
The world No. 1 looked at ease as he fired a final-round 68 to win the RBC Heritage by three shots. He entered the fourth round up by one, but after a miraculous eagle chip-in on No. 2 that Scheffler made look mundane, it was about over. The final 16 holes were a formality, a slow coronation for King Scheffler that thunderstorms pushed to Monday. Scheffler played his final three holes Monday morning, capping it with a meaningless bogey on 18.
“We've seen people do this over the years as far as excellence for time, over a little bit of time,” Max Homa said. “His seems to be sustained a bit longer than I can remember from a lot of people. It's not utterly shocking what he does. He just does it over and over and over again.
“That's amazing. … He almost makes it seem very realistic that we should do that.”
Homa’s quote wasn’t from Sunday. He said it Wednesday, less than 24 hours before the tournament began, and that assessment is even more true now than it was then.

PGA Tour - Corales Puntacana Championship
Billy Horschel went to the Dominican Republic for the first time in search of momentum and came away with a PGA TOUR victory he sorely needed Sunday.
Horschel ran off four straight birdies on the front nine to get in the mix, began to pull away with an eagle on the par-5 12th hole and closed with a 9-under 63 for a two-shot victory in the Corales Puntacana Championship.
“This game of golf is so fickle,” Horschel said. “You can put a lot into it and not get everything you want out of it. I knew ... I had the ability, I had the talent. I had to continue to believe the good stuff was going to come to the forefront.”
Horschel, who started the final round three shots behind, all but sealed it with an 18-foot birdie putt on the 16th hole. Horschel finished at 23-under 265 and earned $720,000.
He won for the eighth time on the PGA TOUR and the first time in nearly two years. This gets him into the PGA Championship next month, and he likely will be in the next Signature Event at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Asian Tour - Saudi Open presented by PIF
John Catlin completed a rampant wire-to-wire victory in the US$1million Saudi Open presented by PIF today, for the first back-to-back win on the Asian Tour in five years. Playing some of the hottest golf in the game at the moment, he shot a final-round five-under-par 66 to finish on 24-under and win by seven shots from Australian Wade Ormsby.
Ormsby registered his best performance since winning the International Series Thailand in March of last year by carding a 64 here at Riyadh Golf Club. American Peter Uihlein finished strongly shooting a 63 to share third place, nine behind the champion, with Kiradech Aphibarnrat from Thailand, who returned a 67.
Catlin, who won the International Series Macau presented by Wynn last month, also nearly made history on the Asian Tour. He came agonisingly close to becoming the first player to complete 72 holes bogey-free, but he missed a seven-foot par putt on 14, much to the disappointment of everyone looking on.
Last month he did actually write his name into the Asian Tour history books by becoming the first player to shoot a 59, in the third round in Macau.
The victory here, which earned him a cheque for US$180,000, saw him overtake Spaniard David Puig at the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit. Puig closed with a 67 to finish in sole possession of fifth, 10 back from Catlin.
Catlin becomes the first player to win successive events on the Asian Tour since Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond in 2019, when he claimed the Indonesian Masters and Thailand Masters.
“I am tired, but very, very happy,” said the 32-year-old, after his sixth victory on the Asian Tour.

You keep telling yourself that you're very close, but winning golf tournaments is really tough and I'm just so happy I was able to pull it off. This is incredible.”

PGA Tour Americas - 69th ECP Brazil Open
Matthew Anderson carded his third consecutive sub-70 round to win the 69th ECP Brazil Open at the Rio Olympic Golf Course. Anderson was one shot off the lead after 16 holes but rallied to make back-to-back birdies on Nos. 17 and 18 to secure his maiden victory as a professional.
Anderson’s breakthrough win comes after T21 and T3 finishes at the season-opening Bupa Championship at Tulum and the Totalplay Championship at Atlas Country Club. Anderson’s victory vaults him into the No. 1 spot in the Fortinet Cup season-long ranking through three tournaments.
The Mississauga, Ontario native is the first Canadian to win on PGA TOUR Americas and has registered six top-25s since he turned pro last summer. Anderson found success early in his career by winning the 2019 Ontario Men’s Amateur Championship. He was selected for the Golf Canada team in 2021-22 and has been part of the team since.
Prior to turning pro, Anderson came off an impressive finish in his graduate season at the University of San Francisco, earning All-American honors after notching a top-15 finish at the 2023 NCAA Championships. From there, Anderson gained status on PGA TOUR Canada via a fourth-place finish at the PGA TOUR Canada Qualifying Tournament. He finished 50th in the 2023 Fortinet Cup standings to gain membership into the inaugural PGA TOUR Americas season.
Anderson is expected to be in the field at the Diners Club Peru Open, the fourth event of the Latin America Swing, which will be hosted at Los Inkas Golf Club from April 25-28 in Lima, Peru.
