News for the 8 Eligible Official World Golf Ranking Tournaments

The Open Championship - The 153rd OPEN

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has emphatically claimed his first Claret Jug, dominating the field at the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush to become the Champion Golfer of the Year. His relentless, efficient, and immensely skilled performance solidified his place among golf's all-time greats.

Scheffler's four-shot victory felt even more substantial, as he turned what is typically a tension-filled Open Sunday into a triumphant procession. Despite a brief hiccup with a double-bogey on the 8th hole, the American quickly regained control, showcasing the composure of a true champion.

This historic win, his fourth major title, sees Scheffler add the Claret Jug to his two Masters titles and his PGA Championship from May. He now stands just one US Open victory away from completing the career Grand Slam. Notably, he is only the second World No. 1, after Tiger Woods, to win The Open since the Official World Golf Ranking began in 1986, drawing comparisons to Woods's own era of dominance.

Speaking after his victory, a visibly moved Scheffler expressed his joy: "It's a pretty special feeling. I grew up waking early watching this (The Open) on TV. It's pretty cool to be standing with the trophy."

HotelPlanner Tour - German Challenge powered by VcG

JC Ritchie has emphatically returned to the winner's circle, securing an eight-stroke victory at the German Challenge powered by VcG at Wittelsbacher Golfclub. The South African, now a five-time HotelPlanner Tour winner, closed with a six-under-par 66 on the final day, extending his overnight five-shot lead to finish on 24 under par. Englishmen Joshua Berry and Tom Lewis shared second place.

The dominant win sees Ritchie climb four places to second in the 2025 Road to Mallorca Rankings, putting him in a strong position for a return to the DP World Tour after losing his playing privileges in 2023.

"I don't think I could've dreamed of anything better," a delighted Ritchie stated, celebrating his first victory since 2022 and his first on the HotelPlanner Tour outside of South Africa. He added that the win was "super important" for his confidence and his ambitions for the DP World Tour.

Ritchie, who took the lead on day two, never looked back, extending his advantage throughout the tournament and maintaining a commanding lead on Sunday, despite admitting he freed up on the back nine and "cruised" after being told by his caddie not to worry about other scores.

The Road to Mallorca now takes a one-week break before resuming with the Farmfoods Scottish Challenge supported by The R&A.
