American Michael Brennan claimed a memorable victory at the Wyndham Championship, matching the Sedgefield Country Club tournament record with a 22-under-par total of 258 to secure his second PGA Tour title. Brennan closed with a fine six-under-par 64, highlighted by five consecutive birdies on the front nine, to finish three strokes clear of runner-up Beau Hossler (261) and four ahead of third-placed Benjamin James (262). The triumph earned Brennan 49.90 Official World Golf Ranking points, catapulting him 23 places up the OWGR from 58th to 35th in the Official World Golf Ranking. Crucially, the win catapulted Brennan from 105th to 47th in the FedExCup standings, making him the only player to leap into the top 70 in the final regular-season event to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs, whilst five-time major winner Brooks Koepka finished tied for 67th at 277 and missed out on postseason qualification.
