Jon Rahm returns to World Number One after he followed in Seve Ballesteros' footsteps with memorable Masters victory becoming the 4th Spanish player to win at the Masters.
News for the 4 Eligible Official World Golf Ranking Tournaments
Major – Masters Tournament
Rahm has long seemed destined for greatness, and he’s never changed course. His victory at the Masters was a reminder of that.
He won the green jacket with a display of the consistency that has been a trademark of his career. A four-putt on his first hole of the week didn’t deter him. The worst weather of the week – conditions that a playing partner called “basically impossible” – couldn’t derail him. Nor could this generation’s most intimidating man in majors. Rahm just kept coming, taking the direct route to the green jacket. He stayed steady as others faltered.
It resulted in his second major championship and a return to the top spot in the world ranking. He has now won four TOUR titles in 2023 and leads the Fed Ex Cup by 786 points.
Consistency can become mundane. It’s not as alluring as the unpredictable, but it is more impressive. Rahm has finished in the top 10 in more than half of his worldwide starts as a pro (85 of 157, 54%). He has more wins (20) than missed cuts (14).

Professional Golf Tour of India - Delhi-NCR Open
Noida’s Gaurav Pratap Singh ended a 14-year-long wait for his second PGTI title with his playoff victory at the Rs. 1 crore Delhi-NCR Open 2023 played at the Noida Golf Course. The 38-year-old Gaurav (35-68-70-71), playing at his home course, put up a solid final round performance of one-under 71 before prevailing in a playoff against Faridabad’s Karan Pratap Singh (34-71-70-69). Gaurav and Karan had earlier posted identical totals of eight-under 244 in regulation play to force a playoff.
Gaurav Pratap Singh, who was overnight second and one shot behind leader Shamim Khan, picked up birdies on the first and sixth courtesy some great wedge shots. Gaurav, who was struggling with his short-game in round three, turned around his chipping and putting form on day four making several crucial chip-putts for par after dropping a bogey on the 11th. Singh produced a terrific bunker shot on the 16th to set up an important tap-in for par.
On the playoff hole, Gaurav made a two-putt from 25 feet for par while his opponent Karan Pratap Singh missed a two-putt from 40 feet for par. Gaurav thus bagged his fourth professional title and second win on the PGTI. He also has two wins on the PGTI Feeder Tour. Gaurav’s winning cheque of Rs. 15,00,000 propelled him from 22nd to fourth place in the TATA Steel PGTI Rankings.

ProGolf Tour - Little Venice Red Sea Open
Pedro Lencart thought the victory was already certain - but then Timo Vahlenkamp came along. The German drew level with Pedro Lencart with four birdies on the last four holes at the Golf Club Ain Sokhna. Thus, the two professionals met again in the play-off. "That was a bit of a surprise," the Portuguese admitted a little later. Lencart had a two-shot lead over Vahlenkamp after a birdie on the 16th, who earned his place in the play-off with a 64 (-8) - the best round of the day.
However, the impressive chase of the native Westphalian did not have a happy ending. Lencart put his approach on the first extra hole straight to the flag and secured his first Pro Golf Tour title with a birdie. "It feels great," said the happy winner, who had a pitching wedge in his hands on that final shot into the green - 118 metres into the wind. "Considering the overall situation, under the pressure, it was probably even the best shot of my career."
