Asian Tour - International Series Qatar
Peter Uihlein proved simply too strong at the US$2.5 million International Series Qatar today, marching to a five-shot victory at Doha Golf Club. The American, the leader since day two, shot a final round three-under-par 69 to finish on 16-under, for his second victory on The International Series this year. The result also saw him move to number one on The International Series Rankings.
South African Charl Schwartzel came home in second place after a 68, while his close friend and compatriot Louis Oosthuizen tied for third two shots back with Filipino Miguel Tabuena. Oosthuizen fired a 71 and Tabuena a 70 – in the penultimate event of the season on the Asian Tour and The International Series.

Japan Golf Tour - Golf Nippon Series JT Cup
South Africa’s Shaun Norris produced a performance for the ages when he completed his fightback to win the season-ending Golf Nippon Series JT Cup with a final round two-under-par 68 on Sunday. Norris’ four-day total of 12-under-par 268 saw the 42-year-old sign off his season with a two-shot victory over Naoyuki Kataoka at the Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club.
Takumi Kanaya made it a dramatic day as he pipped Kensei Hirata to the money ranking title by closing with a 67 to finish outright third while Keita Nakajima, who held the lead for the first three rounds, carded a disappointing 73 to settle for fourth place. Norris, who was determined to end his three-year title drought on the JGTO, entered the final round one shot back of Nakajima. He parred his first two holes before three birdies on holes three, six and nine shifted the advantage to him at the turn. The 42-year-old picked up another gain on 10 and made seven straight pars from the 11th hole. Holding a comfortable four-shot lead as he teed off on the par-three 18, Norris failed to hit his shot close to the pin and struggled to read the green, resulting in a double-bogey that he could afford to make.

PGA Tour of Australasia & DP World Tour - ISPS HANDA Australian Open
Ryggs Johnston won on his second DP World Tour start as he captured the ISPS HANDA Australian Open in impressive fashion. The 24-year-old American, who is named after the Mel Gibson character from the Lethal Weapon movies, carded a closing 68 at Kingston Heath to finish on 18 under par.
That secured a three-shot victory over home favourite Curtis Luck and completed a remarkable rise for the Montana native, who came through Qualifying School and finished tied 42nd on his DP World Tour debut last week. Asked whether he thought a win was on the cards this week, Johnston – who started the week 953rd in the Official World Golf Ranking – said: “To be honest probably not. “I turned up tired from all the travel and Q-School and everything. Didn't get a practice round here with the weather. I didn't really have any expectations, which probably helped me in the end.
“It feels great, just knowing that more playing opportunities and getting into bigger events. It hasn't quite sunk in yet but it's an amazing feeling.” Rygg’s is now inside the top 320 in the Official World Golf Ranking after only 12 OWGR Events.

Asian Development Tour - Aramco Invitational Tournament
Thailand’s Itthipat Buranatanyarat let his experience do the talking in the final round of the Aramco Invitational tournament in Saudi Arabia today, his two-under-par 70 enough to maintain his overnight lead and secure victory. And with the extra prize money available in the US$250,000 season-ending Asian Development Tour event, the win was enough to propel him to the top of the Order of Merit standings, edging out three multiple tournament winners in the process.
Having played in all 12 ADT events this season, Itthipat’s consistency through the year meant he was able to take the honours without winning an event, unlike his nearest rivals Tanapat Pichaikool, Ahmad Baig and Rahil Gangee, all two-time winners this year. With Asian Tour cards available for the top ten in the OOM, there was cause for celebration for Thailand’s Tanapat, India’s Gangee and Baig of Pakistan, who finshed second, third and fourth respectively.

Big Easy Tour - Betway Big Easy Tour 8
Paul Boshoff claimed a historic eight-shot victory in the eighth tournament of the Betway Big Easy Tour that was played at Waterkloof Golf Club, making it two wins in two weeks in the process. A final round 63 which included three eagles, five birdies and two bogeys took Boshoff’s total for the week to 21-under-par 195, some distance clear of Xander Basson who had led proceedings since Tuesday.
“You don’t always know if you have a 63 in you,” said a happy Boshoff. “I didn’t really have a number today but at the beginning of the week, I sort of had 20-under in my head as a goal for myself. There are a lot of birdies here to be made. I have a really good process and I was just going out to play 18 good holes and see what happens.”
