News for the 10 Eligible Official World Golf Ranking Tournaments
PGA Tour - Charles Schwab Challenge
Davis Riley shot even-par 70 while playing in the final group Sunday with Scottie Scheffler and still won the Charles Schwab Challenge by five strokes over the world's No. 1 player and Keegan Bradley for his first individual victory on the PGA TOUR.
Riley finished at 14-under 266 after rolling in a 6-foot par putt on the final hole at Colonial Country Club. Bradley had a closing 67, and Scheffler shot 71 on a day when he hit only seven of 14 fairways and didn't have a birdie until the 13th hole.
After beginning the final round with a four-stroke lead, Riley gave up a stroke with a bogey on the second hole when he drove into the right rough and then hit into the bunker. But that was the closest Scheffler — or anybody else — would get with wind gusts of 20 mph and more blowing throughout the day.
The 27-year-old Riley's only other TOUR win came when he and Nick Hardy won the Zurich Classic team event in New Orleans last year. The Mississippi native's win at historic Colonial, which had been completely restored since last year's tournament, earned him $1.638 million, the traditional winner's plaid jacket and a fully restored and modernized 1975 Stingray car.

DP World Tour - Soudal Open
Nacho Elvira carded a gutsy level-par 71 to hold on and claim his second DP World Tour title at the Soudal Open after a dramatic afternoon at Rinkven International Golf Club. The Spaniard entered the final day with a four-shot advantage and quickly extended that to five but at the finale found himself on the 18th green at 18 under watching playing partner Niklas Nørgaard stand over a birdie putt to force a play-off.
The Dane, however, missed his 12-footer, leaving Elvira to celebrate a one-shot victory, with Frenchman Romain Langasque and home favourite Thomas Pieters in a share of second.English duo Joe Dean and Matthew Jordan were then at 16 under, with Dean the only player to briefly share the lead with Elvira during a tense fourth round.
Elvira's victory serves as a reward for some remarkable consistency in a 2024 season where he has missed just one cut by a single shot and finished second at the Magical Kenya Open. The 37-year-old's victory at the 2021 Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale came after a play-off despite him entering the final round in Wales with a six-shot advantage and he must have been fearing that he would need extra holes again as he scrambled over the closing holes.

Korn Ferry Tour - Visit Knoxville Open
Higgs became the first player in Korn Ferry Tour history to win back-to-back tournaments in a playoff, virtually ensuring his return to the PGA TOUR for 2025. He used the Visit Knoxville Open’s trophy ceremony as an opportunity to remember Grayson Murray, the two-time PGA TOUR winner who died Saturday, and to remind people of the power of kindness.
Higgs normally has no trouble sleeping, but admitted Saturday night was an exception. Even though professional golfers are taught to not look ahead to potential outcomes, Higgs was wrestling with a potential winner’s speech and how he could honor Murray in a heartfelt way. After making a 37-foot eagle putt on the second playoff hole at Holston Hills Country Club, outlasting Frankie Capan III for his second straight Korn Ferry Tour title, Higgs did just that.
“We lost, yesterday morning, one of our own,” Higgs said in his speech. “Somebody who went through a lot of difficult things, somebody that was open and honest about it, and last night … I thought about this moment, and how to maybe remember Grayson. …One thing that I thought of last night, especially laying in bed, is I would challenge everybody here, … and I’m going to do this myself as well each day, … say something nice to someone you love and also make a point to say something nice to someone you do not even know.

Japan Golf Tour - Gate Way To The Open Mizuno Open
Ryosuke Kinoshita, the joint overnight leader, capitalised on his early momentum to win the Gateway to The Open Mizuno Open, ending a three-year drought on the JGTO Tour. Kinoshita’s third triumph on the Tour earned him a coveted ticket to the 152nd Open at Royal Troon in July, marking his second appearance following his debut in 2021.
Kinoshita's early birdies on the second and third holes proved decisive as he concluded with a one-under-par 71, securing a two-shot victory over South Korea's Koh Gun-taek at the JFE Setonaikai Golf Club on Sunday.
Despite a valiant late charge, 24-year-old Koh's modest 70 left him falling short of claiming his second title, following his earlier triumph at the Shinhan Donghae Open last year. Nonetheless, his performance earned him a prized spot in a major tournament for the first time.
Yuto Katsuragawa also celebrated a memorable day, clinching the third and final ticket for The Open Championship as the highest-ranked player on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) among the three tied for third place.
Katsuragawa's final round of 71 saw him sharing third place with Mikumu Horikawa (71) and Shugo Imahira (74) on a total of 279. However, he held the advantage with a world ranking of 177, ahead of Imahira (303) and Horikawa (371).
According to the rules, in the event of a tie, the right for the last qualification spot is determined by the world ranking order. Kinoshita expressed his joy at returning to the winner's circle after his last victory at the Dunlop Srixon Fukushima Open in June 2021.
“It felt like my first victory all over again because it's been such a long three years. I'm truly delighted about this win. Over the past three years, I've faced numerous challenges and grown stronger, which ultimately led me to triumph in this tournament. It was a tough journey, but this victory feels like validation for all the struggles,”

Sunshine Tour - KitKat Cash & Carry Pro-am
The solid plan and clinical execution of Kieran Vincent made sure that any dreams of a challenge to him would be still-born as the Zimbabwean cruised to a four-shot victory in the KitKat Cash & Carry Pro-Am at Irene Country Club on Sunday.
Vincent went into the final round tied for the lead on 15-under-par with James Mack, and there were 11 other golfers within five shots. But the 26-year-old gave them no chance as he fired a brilliant, bogey-free six-under-par 66 on Sunday to finish on 21-under and clinch a comfortable victory.
Vincent picked up his first birdie at the par-four sixth hole and the turn was fertile territory for him as he then reeled off a hat-trick of birdies from the ninth to 11th holes. Vincent sank a superb 40ft putt for birdie on the par-five 10th, and then hit an equally excellent approach to a foot on the par-four 11th to pick up another shot.
The likes of Malcolm Mitchell and Jacques Blaauw did appear briefly in his rearview mirror, but Vincent settled the deal with birdies on the last two holes.
“It hasn’t quite sunk in yet, but I’m here on an invite so I’m super-grateful to KitKat Cash & Carry for this opportunity,” Vincent said.
“I’m very excited because we did a lot of good things today and a lot of hard work has gone into making this first professional win with my caddie Alec a reality. To have my mother and sister in the crowd was also so special.
“Any time you win, it’s a huge boost, wherever it is. I have a long season ahead and there’s still a lot of work to do.”

Challenge Tour - Danish Golf Challenge
Andreas Halvorsen held his nerve to secure a wire-to-wire victory at the Danish Golf Challenge for his first Challenge Tour title. Halvorsen, who led by three strokes going into the final round at Odense Eventyr Golf, fired three birdies on the front nine to hold a four-shot advantage before play was suspended due to threat of lightning.
Despite dropping shots on the first two holes after the restart, Halvorsen held his nerve to card a one under par 71 and finish three strokes clear of Englishman John Parry, Icelander Gudmunder Kristjansson, and Finn Oliver Lindell.
“This is huge,” the Norwegian said. “Going into the day that’s what I was hoping for, so I’m very pleased to finally get it done.
“I tried not to let my mind go, but obviously it did at times. I don’t think I’ve played a round being more stressed than this – I’m very pleased to be done and win.”
“[My parents] came here Wednesday night and we’ve had a fantastic week here, so it’s been really special.”
The 27-year-old led from the first round in Odense after carding three consecutive rounds of 66 over the first 54 holes. He highlighted the importance of those low scoring rounds in giving him the confidence to seal the win heading into Sunday.

Alps Tour Golf - Lacanau Alps Open
France’s Antoine Auboin, 24, came from behind to win his 1st professional title at the inaugural 2024 Lacanau Alps Open. He moved into 3rd place after yesterday’s round 1, and today he shot a 5 under-par, 67 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 16 under-par. Auboin earned the French Team Championship title in 2018 and the French Men’s Championship in 2019. He’s also a member of the C&S Team. In today’s final round, he made 2 eagles, 2 birdies, and 1 bogey. He had a strong finish to today’s round, making an eagle on the 16th hole, a birdie on the 17th hole, and a par on the 18th hole.
After his win, Auboin was very emotional and commented: “I had a tough start to my round today, I didn’t give myself many good birdie opportunities. I was happy to make some pars, I 3-putted on 3 but knew I was still close. I then saw my good Louis extend his lead to 4 or 5 shots, I was then able to make a good birdie on the 10th hole. Once I got to 10, I told my caddy it’s time to make a move, I was able to par until the 12th hole. I was then able to eagle the 13th hole and par until 16. Once I got to hole 16, I told myself I needed to make a 2 or 3 and then finish birdie-birdie or try to make an eagle to have a chance. I hit a fabulous drive on the green and made the eagle putt. Then, on hole 17, I made a birdie, hitting my approach shot to less than a meter to tie Louis heading into the last hole. On the last hole, I saw my good friend Louis struggle around the green, so I just tried to make a par and knew that I could get it done.” When asked about his plans, Auboin added: “To be honest with you, this was going to be my last tournament. Now I’m not sure, I’m still not realizing what I’ve done, it’s my first professional win. The plan was to stop until at least the end of this year and then maybe start again next year on a foreign tour but so now I’m not sure what my plan is going to be. However, for right now, I want to enjoy this win with my caddy, friends, and family.” He wants to dedicate this win: “To me and my girlfriend. She was here with me the first two rounds to try and get me to enjoy the game again and get my confidence back. So, this win is also thanks to her.”

Nordic Golf League - Gamle Fredrikstad Open
Malthe Tandrup Laustsen from Aalborg found a magical game at Gamle Fredrikstad Golf Club and even recorded a hole-in-one during today's round.
Malthe Tandrup Laustsen played an impressive final round of 66 strokes (-6) and jumped 11 places, passing his closest competitors and landing in first place. On a day when only 10 players managed to shoot a round under par, the tall man from Aalborg truly shone on the front nine. Here, Laustsen turned in six under par, which included a hole-in-one, an eagle, and three birdies. The back nine proceeded more or less in cruise control, and with a few bogeys from the pursuers, a Danish victory was certain.
Laustsen's victory is the third Danish win on the Nordic League in 2024. He and the rest of the Nordic players are heading to Smørum next week, where the Smørum Open will be played from May 29-31.
