Laird came into Sunday five shots behind overnight leader Billy Horschel but an unblemished nine-under-par round saw the Scot storm to his first title since winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational a little over two years ago. The win takes Laird to World Number 56 an improvement of 61 positions.

Australian Wade Ormsby claimed his maiden Asian Tour title at the Panasonic Open India Sunday, holding off Thai veteran Boonchu Ruangkit by just one stroke. Ormsby overcame a triple bogey on the third hole to shoot a final round one-under-par 71 earning 14 points and ranked 324th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Chile's Benjamin Alvarado jumps 259 spots to now rank at 286th on the OWGR shot a 2-under 69 on Sunday to win the Web.com Tour's Brasil Classic by one stroke at the Sao Paulo Golf Club. Alvarado, the third-round leader, finished at 19-under 265 and edged South Africa's Dawie van der Walt (66) and was two shots clear of American Kevin Kim (68).
