Simpson also takes the lead in the race for the 2011 FedEx Cup.

Thomas Bjorn completed another stunning performance in the equally breath-taking surroundings of Crans-sur-Sierre as he took the title at the Omega European Masters, and in doing so made it back-to-back victories on the European Tour for the first time in his career. The Great Dane produced a flawless nine-under-par round of 62 on Sunday to win by four from Germany’s Martin Kaymer and claim his third victory of the season, his 13th Tour title and his 19th worldwide. He now finds himself staring at a career high finish on the Order of Merit as he looks to make 2011 the best of his career, and in doing so he has climbed to 26 on the World Ranking having started the year at 124.
Masatsugo Morofuji triumphed on the Japan Golf Tour after a final round of 69 proved enough to take the rain shortened Fujisankei Classic by three shots from Mardan Mamat. It is the Japanese golfer’s maiden title on his home circuit and he now finds himself at 423 on the Official World Golf Ranking.
England’s Gary Christian won the Nationwide Tour’s Mylan Classic and in doing so looks to have secured a spot on the PGA Tour for 2012, having never teed it up there before. Christian currently lies fourth on the money list and 286 on the World Ranking.
