The American birdied the 17th to win by one from England’s Paul Casey, who had led by three at one stage on the back nine, to claim his fourth PGA Tour title. The win puts Johnson second in the FedEx Cup race as the Tour heads off to Atlanta for the Tour Championship in two weeks time, and sees the 26-year-old move to a career high of 12th in the Official World Golf Ranking, an improvement of 12 positions

Current Race to Dubai leader Martin Kaymer barely broke a sweat as he strolled to a commanding three shot victory at the KLM Open at Hilversumsche Golf Club. The German always looked in control during the final round, and the week turned out to be the perfect preparation for his Ryder Cup debut as he heads to Celtic Manor in a few weeks full of confidence. This comfortable victory sees the 25-year-old move up one position to fifth in the ranking with an average of 7.271.

Michael Putnam became the twelfth first time winner on the Nationwide Tour in 2010 with a Sunday 67 that saw him win by three at the Utah Championship. The American has been playing on the Tour since leaving college a few years ago, and this win sees him in a strong position to gain his playing rights on the PGA Tour in 2011. Putnam is now finds himself 201 places better off in the ranking at 318 with an average points total of 0.539.

Alvaro Velasco took his second Challenge Tour title of the season on Sunday, shooting a final round 69, to win by one at the Kazakhstan Open. The Spaniard had already won on home soil this season at the Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana and this second victory sees him ensure his place on the European Tour in 2011. He is now 229 on the ranking, a rise of 76 places, with a points total of 0.811.

Peter Karmis won his maiden Asian Tour title at the Handa Singapore Classic after holding of the challenge of fellow countrymen Jbe Kruger on Sunday. The South African led every day and completed his wire-to-wire victory with a one-under-par total on Sunday to win by two. The win sees Karmis jump 474 places up the ranking to 390 with an average points total of 0.425.
