23 year-old Martin Kaymer, the 2007 European Tour Rookie of the Year, led from the first day and closed out the Abu Dhabi Championship with a final round 74 for a 15-under-par total of 273. The win takes the German player to World Number 34, a jump of 42 places. He becomes the only player in the World Top 50 under 25 years of age.

D.J. Trahan equalled the best round of the final day with a seven-under-par 65 over the Classic Course to win the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic on the PGA Tour. Justin Leonard had lead this five round Pro-Am tournament with a round to go but Trahan's 65 gave him a three stroke victory. Trahan jumps 114 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 113th.
