As well as securing victory in the first Fedex Cup PGA Tour Playoffs Woods takes his lead over Phil Mickelson at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking to 14.73 average points.

Tiger Woods won THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola by a margin of eight strokes over Masters Champion Zach Johnson and his final round playing partner Mark Calcavecchia. As well as securing victory in the first Fedex Cup PGA Tour Playoffs Woods takes his lead over Phil Mickelson at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking to 14.73 average points.

Two eagles in three holes on the back nine of the final round helped Soren Hansen to a four-stroke victory in the Mercedes-Benz Championship at Gut Lärchenhof over Phillip Archer and Alastair Forsyth who tied for second. Hansen breaks into the World Top 50 with a 43 place jump to World Number 49.

In Japan Norio Shinozaki overcame Yasuharu Imano and Chawalit Plaphol in a play-off for the ANA Open. Shinozaki climbs 695 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 398th.

Thaworn Wiratchant from Thailand edged teenage compatriot Chinarat Phadungsil and Scotsman Simon Yates in a sudden-death play-off for the Midea China Classic at the Royal Orchid International Golf Club. Wiratchant improves his World Ranking by 53 spots to 207th.

This week's other winners were Kyle Thompson at the Oregon Classic Pres'd by Kendall Automotive Group on the Nationwide Tour and Felipe Aguilar at the OKI Mahou Challenge de Espana on the European Challenge Tour.
