WEEK 18 - TIM PETROVIC WINS THE ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS AND ERNIE ELS WINS THE BMW ASIAN OPEN BY 13 STROKES

Tim Petrovic defeated James Driscoll in a sudden death play-off to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at the TPC of Louisiana on the PGA Tour. Petrovic climbs 53 places to World Number 67. Driscoll is now World Number 119 an improvement of 166 places.

Tim Petrovic defeated James Driscoll in a sudden death play-off to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at the TPC of Louisiana on the PGA Tour. Petrovic climbs 53 places to World Number 67. Driscoll is now World Number 119 an improvement of 166 places.

Ernie Els won the BMW Asian Open at the Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club, an event co-sanctioned by the Asian and European Tours. Els completed his 13 stroke victory on Monday morning after a weather delay on Sunday meant the tournament could not finish on schedule. Els remains World number 3 and second placed Simon Wakefield is now World Number 205.

Naomichi Joe Ozaki made it back-to-back victories when he defeated Steven Conran to take The Crowns on the Japan Golf Tour. Ozaki, having regained top 200 status last week, improved his World Ranking by 65 places to 120.

The week’s other winners were Shane Bertsch at the BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs on the Nationwide Tour and Tomas Jesus Munoz at the European Challenge Tour’s Peugeot Challenge R.C.G El Prat.
