Tiger Woods won the WGC-NEC Invitational at Firestone Country Club by a stroke from Chris DiMarco completing his fourth victory in this event and claiming his ninth World Golf Championship. Woods has amassed more than 600 Official World Golf Ranking points this year and now heads Vijay Singh at the top by nearly 6 average points.

Vaughn Taylor completed a successful defense of the Reno Tahoe Open at Montreux Golf and Country Club on the PGA Tour. The win takes Taylor up 39 places to World Number 91.

This week’s other winners were Rick Price at the Xerox Classic on the Nationwide Tour, Marc Warren at the Rolex Trophy andDavid Patrick at the Scandia PGA Open, both events on the European Challenge Tour.
