Peter Lonard won for a second successive week on the PGA Tour of Australasia with a stunning final-round display at the Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship at Hyatt Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. Lonard’s final round of 65 gave him victory by two shots over James Nitties, who was playing only his fourth event as a professional. Lonard has climbed to World Number 38, a jump of 7 places.
Paul Sheehan from Australia won the season ending Golf Nippon Series JT Cup on the Japan Golf Tour finishing a comfortable four strokes ahead of Korean Yong-Eun Yang. Sheehan finished the season in 5th place on the Japan Golf Tour Offical Money List and in 111th place on the Official World Golf Ranking.
Richard McEvoy picked up his maiden professional win at the Panasonic Panama Open by a single shot from Marco Ruiz of Paraguay. The event was co-sanctioned by the Tour de las Americas and the European Challenge Tour. McEvoy moves up 137 places to World Number 447.
