The European Tour moves into the Swiss Alps this week as Robert Karlsson kept it together in some tough final round conditions to win the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre. His 4-shot victory over South Africa’s Trevor Immelman and Scotland’s Paul Lawrie means that Robert moves up 51 positions in this week’s World Ranking and into the Top-100 at No.64. Immelman moves up to just outside the Top-100 at No.102 – his highest career World Ranking position - and Lawrie advances 9 spots and into the Top-50 at No.48.
In the Bell Canadian Open on the US PGA TOUR, John Rollins made a birdie on the first play-off hole to outlast Justin Leonard and Neal Lancaster and win the $720,000 first prize. Rollins improves 54 positions on the World Ranking this week as he leaps into the World Top-100 at No.88. Lancaster can enjoy an improvement of 45 spots as he makes his way to No.146 while Leonard moves up 4 places to World No.15.
Nobuhito Sato rises 22 positions this week as his victory in the JPGA Matchplay Championship moves him to No.105 in the world. Nobuhito is the present Japan Golf Tour Official Money List leader with Y106, 564,118 from the 17 tournaments he has competed in this year.
