With 17 first-time winners on the PGA TOUR in 2002, some unfamiliar names have battled their way into the season-ending TOUR Championship at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The World's Top-10 don't miss it though. owgr.com asseses the field...
TOUR Championship
With only Padraig Harrington missing from the World's Top-10 this week in Georgia, the power-packed field assembled for the season-ending TOUR Championship party will no doubt mean world ranking positions are at stake.
Garcia, who is in electric form following the World Match Play Championship two weeks ago, has both Ernie Els (world no.3) and Retief Goosen (no.4) in his radar if he wins the tournament and the South-Africans fail to impress.
World No.2 Phil Mickelson, fresh from a super finish at Callaway Gardens last week, will want to close the chasm that has again begun to develop at the top between himself and the man from Windemere, Florida - Tiger Woods.
The East Lake field is comprised of the Top-30 on the US PGA Tour money list but, as ever, the World's Top-10 can illustrate the strength of any field in the game of golf.
