Bob Burns became the 16th player to win his first PGA TOUR event this year as he overcame both Chris DiMarco and the World No.1 Tiger Woods to win the Disney Golf Classic. Burns climbs a remarkable 142 positions and is now the 49th highest ranked American player at World No.99. Runner-up Chris DiMarco improves one spot to become the new World No.12 while third-placed Tiger Woods continues to dominate at the summit as the gap between him and World No.2 Phil Mickelson is now 8.87 points.

David Toms finished T6 at Walt Disney World but remains at World No.7 as the Cisco World Match Play participants Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Sergio Garcia and Padraig Harrington all hold their World No.3, 4, 5 and 6 positions. The Cisco World Match Play does NOT count to this week’s Official World Golf Ranking.
On the Asian PGA Tour, China’s Zhang Lian-wei successfully defended his Macau Open title after beating Zimbabwe’s Nick Price in a five-hole play-off at the Macau Golf and Country Club. Zhang is the top-ranked Chinaman as he moves to World No.151
In the week’s other tournaments, Didier De Vooght from Belgium won the Fortis Bank Challenge Open at Van Nymegen Golf Club in Holland and Didier is now World No. 400.
David Morland IV won the Hibernia Southern Open on the BUY.Com tour and David is now World No. 375.
