Craig Parry moves up 73 spots to No.45 in the world this week as he ran away with the third of the year’s World Golf Championship events – the NEC Invitational. Parry, who qualified for the tournament through his victory in the New Zealand Open, picks up the $1 million first prize and his first victory on the PGA TOUR in 235 starts. Runner-up Fred Funk continues his upward movement on the world ranking as he improves 14 positions to World No.36 while Robert Allenby moves up 10 positions to World No.24. In the Diageo Scottish PGA Championship on the European Tour, Adam Scott obliterated record after record to become the fourth multiple-winner on the 2002 European Tour. Scott moves up 12 positions in the Ranking from No.61 to No.49 this week.

On the US PGA TOUR this week, the former UNLV star Chris Riley picked up his first PGA TOUR victory as he outlasted Jonathan Kaye with a par on the first hole of a play-off. Riley moves up 12 positions and into the World Top-50 at No.42. Jonathan Kaye moves up 26 spots to No.111 in this week’s World Ranking.

After a 4-month break, the Asian PGA Tour made a very welcome return to the Official World Golf Ranking calendar this week as the Mercuries Masters at Taiwan Golf and Country Club was won by the Tsai Chi-Huang. The 33 year-old from Taiwan moves to World No.584.

In the week’s other tournaments Taggart Ridings won the Permian Basin at Midland Country Club on the BUY.COM tour. Tag moves up to World No.555. Chris Locker won The Greater Toronto Open on the Canadian Tour and Chris moves to No. 425= in the world. In the two European Challenge Tour events taking place this week Simon Hurd won the Rolex Trophy at Golf Club de Geneve to move to No.366 in the world. In the Skandia PGA Open at Halmstad GC, Thomas Besancenez was victorious and he moves to World 616=.
