Justin Leonard wins the WorldCom Classic and is now No.23 in the world

On the PGA TOUR this week, Justin Leonard moves up 17 positions to World No.23 after he won the WorldCom Classic at the Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina and he also jumps up from No.33 to No.13 on the PGA TOUR money list. Runner-up Heath Slocum improves his World Ranking 158 positions to No.92 after he recorded his best ever PGA TOUR finish and Davis Love III returns to the World Top-10 at No.9 courtesy of his T5th finish. Bernhard Langer was the highest placed of the Europeans and an improvement of 4 places leaves the German at World No.15. Phil Mickelson finished in outright 3rd position and is still at No.2 in the Official World Golf Ranking. The gap at the top between Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods is now 5.85 points – 0.42 less than last week.

In this week’s other tournaments, Pablo Del Olmo from Mexico won the 2002 Michelin Ixtapa Classic on the Canadian Tour and Pablo moves up 281 positions to World No.479. He is now the 10th highest South American on the World Ranking.

On the BUY.COM tour, Jace Bugg won the Arkansas Classic at Diamante Golf Club, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Jace is now No.382 in the world.
