European Tour – BMW International Open

Henrik Stenson won his tenth European Tour title as he held his nerve down the stretch to claim a three-shot victory at the BMW International Open at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof.

The Swede had to tackle 36 holes on Sunday after rain delays prevented him from taking to the course on day three and he signed for a third-round 67 in the morning to open up a one-shot lead.

He made three bogeys in five holes from the sixth in round four, though, and when South Africa's Darren Fichardt made a third birdie of the day on the 13th, the lead was shared.

But Stenson had birdied all four of the par fives in the morning and he took advantage of the 13th and 15th again before driving the 17th for another birdie and a 17 under total.

The victory is a fifth top-six finish in eight European Tour events this season and could move him up to fifth in the Official World Golf Ranking just a week after he had to withdraw from the US Open through injury.

It is also a second win in this event following his triumph in 2006 and a case of third time lucky after finishing in second place the past two seasons.

Web.com Tour - Air Capital Classic presented by Aetna

Ollie Schniederjans rolled in an 18-foot birdie putt on the second extra hole to defeat former Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada Order of Merit winner J.J. Spaun and PAC-12 Freshman of the Year Collin Morikawa in a playoff at the Air Capital Classic presented by AETNA. The 23-year-old Schniederjans’ first Web.com Tour win moves him up to No. 3 on the money list.

“I felt like it was probably a 20 percent chance of making it,” said Schniederjans, about the 18-foot left-to-right putt. “I just wanted to pure the heck out of it and see what happens. It went in beautifully; it was incredible.”

PGA Tour - Quicken Loans National

Billy Hurley III held the club in his left hand and fist pumped with his right. The ball disappeared into the hole in front of him as the crowd roared, and Hurley let loose the emotion he'd been holding in.

"That's probably like the most emotion I've ever shown in my life," Hurley said.

An hour later, not far from his Annapolis home and the Naval Academy he graduated from 12 years ago, Hurley became a champion. He shot a 2-under 69 on Sunday to win his hometown Quicken Loans National at Congressional for his first PGA TOUR victory.

"Couldn't be a better tournament to win from all the facets of it," Hurley said with the trophy in front of him. "From just being close to home, being close to the Academy, close to where I grew up. It's just perfect."

Japan Golf Tour - ISPS HANDA Global Cup

Korean Junwon Park won his first Japan Golf Tour event with a playoff victory over Emiliano Grillo at the ISPS HANDA Global Cup.

Park came from two shots off Grillo’s 54 hole lead with a final round of 66 including a final nine of 32 to catch Grillo claiming 20 World Ranking pints moving to World No. 195.

PGA Tour China - Nanjing Open

Dou Zecheng came from behind on Sunday to win his third tournament of the season, carding a 5-under 67 on the final day to edge Thailand’s Gunn Charoenkul by a stroke.

Tied with Charoenkul with one hole to play, Dou parred the 18th hole at Nanjing Zhongshan International Golf Club, while Charoenkul had a 40-foot birdie putt for the win but ended up three-putting for bogey.

The victory, worth ¥216,000 just adds to the dominating lead Dou enjoys on the Order of Merit, and the 19-year-old joins New Zealand’s Josh Geary and China’s Haotong Li as the only players in Series’ history to win three times in year.

Challenge Tour - SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts

An emotional James Heath dedicated his victory at the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts to his late mother, after the Englishman marched to a two-shot triumph in the Highlands.

The 33 year old, who endured a tough start to the year when his mother passed away but has since experienced the joy of fathering a first child, was under the cosh for the duration of the final round at Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Club.

But he never looked unduly nervous as, much like the third round, he bounced back from the two bogeys he suffered in some style, birdieing the following two holes on each occasion.

The Londoner’s drive on the final hole found the long grass on the right hand side but he once again proved he was made of stern stuff in the difficult rainy conditions, putting his approach to 12 feet and two-putting for a closing par, a four under par final round 68 and a 21 under total.

PGA Tour Canada - SIGA Dakota Dunes Open

Germany’s Max Rottluff capped off a marathon Sunday at Dakota Dunes Golf Links by shooting a 6-under 66 to win the SIGA Dakota Dunes Open, the fourth event of the Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada season.

The 23-year old Arizona State University grad finished at 23-under par for the week to win by one over Raleigh, North Carolina’s Carter Jenkins. The win comes in Rottluff’s third start as a professional.

“To win in my third start after missing the first two cuts, that was certainly not on the radar and came unexpectedly,” said Rottluff. “I haven’t had the year that I was hoping for, but coming out with the win today gives me a lot of confidence. It’s a huge boost.”

ALPS Tour Golf - Open Int. de la Mirabelle d'Or

French amateur Hubert Tisserand, 22, shot 69 to lead by one shot at -9 over his fellow countryman Fabien Marty. A couple of Spaniards is one shot further, David Berna and Santiago Tarrio.

MENA Golf Tour – The Roar

Riekus Nortje left his closest rivals trailing in his wake to capture The Roar, the MENA Golf Tour’s third and final event in South Africa, on Friday.

Starting the day four in front, the talented South African closed with a two-under 70 to reach 13-under for the tournament, four clear of his compatriot Teaghan Gauche as rising star Darin de Smidt topped the amateur division on eight-under, thanks to a sparkling 67 — the best score of the day.

It was Nortje, who held his nerve to finish strongly despite a mid-round wobble and seal his fourth title on the Big Easy Tour.

“Well, the nerves were there from the first hole. There were a couple of bad tee shots and that was basically it. For the rest it was still okay,” said Nortje, adding: "I didn’t hit the ball great, but I still got it around and made some good putts when I needed to."

EuroPro Tour – GRENKE Championship

Stephen Dodd won the GRENKE Championship on the first play-off hole to beat Adam Hodkinson to the £10,000 winner’s prize in the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour event at Cumberwell Park in Wiltshire.

Three-time European Tour winner Dodd parred the 18th in the sudden death play-off as Hodkinson (Chorlton-cum-Hardy Golf Club) three putted for bogey. Both had finished the tournament 13 under par.

Dodd birdied the last to force the play off with an almighty 35-foot putt, two holes after he appeared to have ended his chance with a double bogey on the 16th. However, his nearest rival James Maw (Rockliffe Hall) made six on the par-four 17th moments later, bringing Dodd back into contention and raising the hopes of clubhouse leader Hodkinson.
