Bill Haas landed his second Humana Challenge title after a narrow one-shot victory in a tight contest at La Quinta.

The 32-year-old from Greenville, South Carolina, posted a closing five-under 67 for an aggregate 22-under 266, holding his place at the summit where he began the day in the company of three others.

Beginning the day in a four-way tie at the top of the leaderboard, the former world No 41 posted a closing five-under 67 to finish 22-under in a congested field where five players tied for second.

Among those ending one-shot back were Charley Hoffman and Brendan Steele, who both stayed in contention with eight-under 64's on the final day, while Steve Wheatcroft and South Korea’s Sung Joon Park also ended on 21-under.

Matt Kuchar completed the group of runners-up after a final round 67, with the 36-year-old missing an 11-feet birdie putt at the last to potentially take the tournament into a play-off.

European Tour – Commercial Bank Qatar Masters

Branden Grace held off a spirited challenge from Marc Warren to land his sixth European Tour title at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.

For the second day running the South African produced the day’s moment of magic – a drive to five feet on the par four 16th setting up a decisive eagle as he shot a round of 66 for a 19 under par total.

That followed a miraculous snap-hook wedge from the trees at the fifth on Saturday, where the resulting birdie set up a third round 68 after a shaky start.

“It was a great day, a great week, and it’s another trophy to put in the cupboard,” said Grace. “I’m going to thank Callaway again – that driver again on 16 to four feet; without that it wouldn’t be possible.

“That wedge on the fifth hole, that was a shot that you want to hit but you don’t always manage it.

“The form has been there, I played great and I managed to get in on top.”

Victory represents Grace’s second of the 2015 Race to Dubai, having already captured the Alfred Dunhill Championship on home soil.

Grace and Warren both started the day in a four-way tie for the lead with Emiliano Grillo and Bernd Wiesberger, but a host of other players also mounted challenges on a dramatic last day at Doha Golf Club.
