PGA TOUR - Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial

In his first week as the new No. 1, Adam Scott went out and won for the first time this season, edging Jason Dufner in a dramatic three-hole playoff.

The Australian made a seven-foot birdie putt after a fantastic approach shot to finally see off Dufner, who he had finished level with on nine-under-par after 72 holes.

The two major winners both shot pars at the first play-off hole before Scott holed a superb 14-foot birdie putt at the second, although Dufner held his nerve to make his own putt and keep the tournament alive.

But Scott’s brilliant second shot at the next hole ultimately proved decisive.

"This is a really special week for me," the 33-year-old said after his win.

"It was, no matter what happened here. But to kind of find my way back into this tournament, around this golf course - it's a real honor to win here. It's a beauty."

The 2013 Masters champion needed to finish in the top 13 to stay ahead of Henrik Stenson in the rankings and achieved that with plenty of room to spare.

European Tour – BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Rory McIlroy came from seven shots behind to claim a remarkable victory in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club.

McIlroy carded a closing 66 to win The European Tour's flagship event for the first time following a rollercoaster final day.

The Northern Irishman only took the outright lead for the first time with a birdie on the 71st hole and made another on the last to finish 14 under par, one ahead of Ireland's Shane Lowry with two-time winner Luke Donald and overnight leader Thomas Björn a shot behind in third.

McIlroy said: "It's been 18 months since I won on The European Tour and to win the flagship event, I could not have asked for any more.

"I knew coming in here I was playing well. I struggled a little on Friday but played great over the weekend. I was a little fortunate that some of the guys ahead of me made mistakes and I took advantage of it.

"My caddie JP (Fitzgerald) set me the target of 15 under today. I didn't quite get there but 14 under was enough. I really wanted to win before going into the second Major of the season (the US Open from June 12-15) and I could not have asked for a better way to prepare.

Japan Golf Tour – Kansai Open Golf Championship

Koumei Oda fired a 5-under 67 on Sunday to come from behind and win the Kansai Open Golf Championship moving to World No.66.

Oda collected his seventh career victory on the Japan Golf Tour at 15-under- par 273.

Third-round leader Yoshinori Fujimoto tripped to a 1-over 73 during his final round at Rokko Country Club to fall into second place at 13-under 275.

Brad Kennedy (68), Hiroo Kawai (69) and Dong-Kyu Jang (69) shared third at 12- under, while Tetsuji Hiratsuka (73) finished in sixth at 11-under.

Oda parred his first two holes before rolling in a birdie at the second. He gave that shot back with a bogey at the fifth, but then birdied the sixth and seventh to make the turn at 12-under.

He converted two more birdies at the 12th and 14th to reach 14-under and after posting a bogey at the 15th, Oda eagled the 18th to head into the clubhouse at minus-15.

Asian Development Tour - PGM Johor Championship

Chan Shih-chang of Chinese Taipei stormed to an emphatic third Asian Development Tour (ADT) victory when he defeated Australian Jack Munro in the first play-off hole at the PGM Johor Championship on Saturday claiming his third ADT title this season moving to World No. 242nd.

The 27-year-old Chan, who closed with a five-under-par 67, matched Filipino Jay Bayron’s, 2012 ADT Order of Merit champion, efforts in claiming a total of three victories since the burgeoning circuit was inaugurated as a gateway to the Asian Tour in 2010.

Overnight leader Munro battled to a 70 to fall into a tie with Chan on 12-under-par 276 in regulation play before proceeding to par-four 18th hole for the play-off which Chan birdied to win the RM200,000 (approximately US$60,000) event.

Web.com –The Rex Hospital Open

Byron Smith cruised to a stress-free 5-under 66 Sunday to win the Rex Hospital Open by four strokes for his first career title. Smith shared the 54-hole lead at TPC Wakefield Plantation and distanced himself from the pack, getting to his 16-under 268 total. He finished four better than Scott Gardiner (69) and Harold Varner III (70).

“This means everything. It’s a long time coming,” said the 33-year old Smith, who was on the golf team for two years but never played in a tournament during days as a philosophy major at Pepperdine. “They say golf is a game of mostly failures and I’ve had plenty of that. This is what makes it all worth it. It’s amazing. It’s the biggest moment in my golf career up to this point by far.”

Smith moved from No. 66 to No. 10 on the money list and is now ranked 316th in the World Ranking.

The Palm Desert, California, resident hit the ball solidly the first two days but couldn’t get the putter working and was seven shots off the pace heading into the weekend.

Challenge Tour – Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda

At the end of a low scoring week at the picturesque Golfclub Schloss Finkenstein, Moritz Lampert was left holding the trophy aloft as winner of the Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda.

Seven birdies and just a single dropped shot added up to a round of 65 on Sunday as the German posted a 19 under par total to win by a stroke from playing partner Byeong-hun An, with Italy’s Filippo Bergamaschi a shot further back in third position.

This latest success for Lampert, who won his first professional title earlier this year on the Pro Golf Tour, means the 22 year old will now have a full category on the Challenge Tour for the rest of the year. It will allow the German to plan a proper schedule, and it also sees him jump to fifth on the Rankings, with the top 15 earning their place on The European Tour come the end of the season.

Having just received the trophy, and a rather large cheque for €25,600 at the presentation on the 18th green, Lampert was clearly over the moon with his success.

PGA Tour LatinoAmerica – Lexus Panama Classic

A week after finishing third in the Dominican Republic, where lost the chance of entering a playoff by one shot, Argentina’s Julián Etulain played even better to ensure victory wouldn’t slip away at the Lexus Panama Classic.

Holding a two-shot lead after a 66 on Saturday, the 25-year-old played solid and confident on Sunday. A final-round 69 helped him secure a two-shot win at Buenaventura Golf Club, where his winning total was 17-under 271.

Korean Golf Tour - Descente Korea Munsingwear Matchplay Championship

South Korea's Lee Ki Sang won the Descente Korea Munsingwear Matchplay Championship gaining 8 points moving him from 676th to 437th in the Ranking.

Sunshine Tour – Lombard Insurance Classic

Christiaan Basson capped an extraordinary bogey-free week with a brilliant back nine of seven-under-par 29 on Sunday to close out a come-from-behind win in the Lombard Insurance Classic at Royal Swazi Spa Country Club.

“I have had a 29 in a professional round before,” said Basson, “but that didn’t count as it was when par was reduced to 31 or 32 in the Nelson Mandela Invitational in 2012 – so this is as well as I have ever played.”

He carded a 10-under-par 62 in the final round to race clear of overnight leader Jake Redman, finishing on 19-under-par 197 and five clear of Redman who made just one mistake in his closing round of three-under-par 69.
