Luke Donald is back on top of the world after a dominant display at the BMW PGA Championship that saw him win by four at Wentworth from joint second placed men Justin Rose and Paul Lawrie. Heading into Sunday two in front, Donald started the round looking a little shaky with a bogey at the very birdieable fourth, before a miss for birdie at the next from only a few feet. This allowed Rose to pull level, but this was only for a short time, as this seemed to act as the catalyst for Donald who proceeded to go on a superb run with birdies at six, seven, ten, 12 and 16 completing an emphatic title defence, something he was yet to achieve in his illustrious career so far. He now begins a fourth stint atop the Official World Golf Rankings with an average points lead of 1.04 over Rory McIlroy.

Zach Johnson is back in the world’s top 20 after having to overcome a two shot penalty on the 72nd hole en route to picking up his second career Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial title. With victory seemingly secured the new world number 17 was left with a five footer at the last for the win, but having moved his marker for playing partner Dufner, he then forgot to replace it. However, the penalty was assessed before he signed his card, and even with it he remained two strokes clear. Johnson had entered the day a stroke adrift of overnight leader Jason Dufner, who was looking to pick up his third title in four weeks, but he hung tough on a seemingly difficult day for the leading pair to eventually edge out his compatriot by a couple of strokes and pick up his first win on the PGA Tour in two years.

Hiroyuki Fujita dominated the final three rounds of the Diamond Cup Golf to pick up his 13th Japan Golf Tour title and move to World Number 64. Having opened with rounds of 66-65 the Japanese star was always in control, and starting the final day three clear of second placed man Kiradech Aphibarnrat, he posted a one over par round of 73 to take the title by three shots. It is his second win of the season having won the Tsuruya Open just over a month ago.

Four successive birdies on the back nine during Sunday’s final round at the Telenet Trophy ensured a first Challenge Tour title for Marco Crespi who leaps 750 spots on the World Ranking. Starting the day a shot clear of Alexandre Kaleka, the Italian played steady on the front, before his birdie barrage from the 12th ensured that he would take the title. Thanks to this three shot victory he is now the 484th ranked golfer in the world.

Bryce Easton ended a thrilling three way play-off at the Sun City Challenge with a bang posting his second eagle of the day at 18 to win at the first extra hole. It was almost identical to how he played it in regulation, also making eagle to get into the play-off, and it proved to be sufficient in extra holes to give him the title. Thanks to this win he jumps 229 places on the ranking and inside the top 700 at 685.
