Adam Scott completed his return to the top of the game with a dominant display in Akron that saw him claim his first World Golf Championship title at the WGC - Bridgestone Invitational. The 31-year-old Australian had previously claimed seven victories on either side of the Atlantic, and after a closing round of 65 he streaked clear to win by four from American Rickie Fowler and World Number One Luke Donald. The win sees Scott return to the World’s top ten at 9th, a jump of eight places and he will hope for further success this week as he looks for his maiden Major title.

The Reno-Tahoe Open was also running this week alongside the WGC in Ohio, and there was no shortage of action here either as Scott Piercy almost squandered a three shot lead, having to hole a seven footer on the last for his maiden Tour title. The 32-year-old American’s previous best on Tour was a 6th at the 2009 Honda Classic. He now finds himself inside the top 200 on the OWGR at 175, a jump of 133 places.

On the Nationwide Tour it was two in two for Texan J.J. Killeen who two putted from 90-feet on the last to avoid a five man play-off and pick up his second trophy in as many weeks. The win sends him up to second on the money list and looking good for a PGA Tour card in 2012, as well as allowing a jump over 100 places on the OWGR to 233.

Park Do-Kyu shot a third and final round 67 to win the Korean Golf Tour’s Johnnie Walker Open by one shot from compatriot Kim Sung-Yoon. The win sees him climb to 645th on the Official World Golf Ranking.
