Tiger Woods, the World Number One captured the World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational for the sixth time at Firestone Country Club, Akron, Ohio, with an eight stroke victory over England’s Justin Rose and Rory Sabbatini of South Africa. Woods extends his lead over Jim Furyk to 11.52 average points in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Steve Flesch claimed the Reno-Tahoe Open with a comfortable five-stroke victory over Charles Warren and Reno-born Kevin Stadler. The win takes Flesch to World Number 145, a jump of 70 positions.

Sweden's Per-Ulrik Johansson claimed his first European Tour title for a decade with a six stroke victory in the Russian Open to climb 633 places to 253rd in the Official World Golf Ranking.

This week's other winners were Jun Kikuchi at the Sun Chlorella Classic on the Japan Golf Tour, Brad Elder at the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open on the Nationwide Tour and Magnus A Carlsson at the Challenge of Ireland on the European Challenge Tour.
